ATLANTIC STATION PARTNERS WITH PLAY ME AGAIN PIANOS TO UNVEIL A NEW PUBLIC PIANO
’Waverly’ Debuts March 22, Marking the Nonprofit’s 31st Piano Installation

ATLANTA: Atlantic Station will host the unveiling of Waverly, the latest installation by Play Me Again Pianos, a Georgia-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing free public pianos to communities, on Saturday, March 22, at 2 p.m. Located in The Nook next to Regal Cinemas, Waverly marks the organization’s 31st piano and second to live and entertain in Atlantic Station’s retail and restaurant district.

"Atlantic Station is excited to partner with Play Me Again Pianos and young Atlanta artist Jace McLeod to bring back vibrant public art and music to the neighborhood," said Giovanni Silva, General Property Manager at Atlantic Station. "Waverly is a beautiful addition to The Nook, offering visitors a chance to connect, create, and experience the joy of spontaneous music. We look forward to seeing the community embrace this latest installation!"

Jace McLeod of Atlanta designed and painted the newest piano. McLeod is a seventh-grade student in Cobb County who enjoys many art forms. He is an avid artist, focusing on acrylic painting, and a musician, composing melodies and playing trumpet and violin. Waverly reflects the rhythm of creativity through a musical staff-inspired design. Various shades of blue represent the many tones of music, bringing his artistic and musical passions together in a striking, interactive piece. McLeod’s art teacher and mentor, Aleigha Reott, previously designed Dottie, Play Me Again Pianos’ 10th installation and the first piano at Atlantic Station, which retired in 2024. Now, her student continues that legacy, illustrating how public art connects generations and fosters creativity.

Waverly will be unveiled with a celebratory ribbon-cutting with remarks at Atlantic Station on Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m. This free, public event invites guests to be among the first to experience the new piano, play a tune and enjoy the music-filled atmosphere.

“We’re thrilled to see the Play Me Again Pianos community continue to grow,” said Jason Brett, President of Play Me Again Pianos. “Atlantic Station has been a fantastic home for our pianos, and we’re excited to see Waverly join this tradition. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Benjamin Barnes, this piano not only highlights the artistic vision of young talents like Jace, but it also allows the community to connect with and enjoy the creativity of a new generation of artists. We look forward to seeing everyone embrace Waverly—whether by playing, sharing on social media, or supporting its continued upkeep to ensure its musical legacy lasts for years to come.”
